Fashion anniversaries to note.
The Sonia Rykiel house is turned 40 . It was founded in 1967 and is run by Nathalie Rykiel,Sonia's daughter. Emanuel UngaroIt and Halston (Halston in NY) both also started out in in 1968. That makes both 40 this year. It was 25 years ago that Karl Lagerfeld came on board and rejuvenated Chanel .
2007 marked the 75th anniversary for Lacoste. A book celebrating the "crocodile" and the empire created by René Lacoste is due out in the fall.
Congratulations to all of these design empires.
