We all need to be reminded about taking care of our feet. Here are some tips about getting the proper shoe fit.
We have all heard that shopping for shoes late in the day is best. This is because your feet are actually larger from being used all day long. You want to fit them when they are at their largest so that they are comfortable when you are actually wearing them. If you don’t shop for your shoes when your feet are large, you would most likely feel uncomfortable from them when your feet do swell late in the day.
Measure or re-measure every other year. Bring someone along to do it (remember to put your toes on the line, heels all the way back, and stand up straight) or ask a sales person.
A proper shoe fit will work for both your heel and toes. If your heel moves and down in the shoe while you walk, it may mean that the heel is too large. You may need to go down a shoe size and up in width.
Foot sizes do change with age. They also change due to pregnancy and childbirth.
