To celebrate Earth Day, April 22, Target are offering eco-friendly styles that will land in stores by this weekend.
According to the LA Times, the founders of the eco-minded label Loomstate -- Rogan Gregory, who won the emerging designer CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2007, and Scott Mackinlay Hahn -- are launching the Loomstate for Target collection with clothing made from 100% organic cotton (except for a few swimwear pieces).
The women's collection, on the racks by April 19 and for sale until May 16, has summer-ready looks including a $29.99 aqua roll-up sleeve T-shirt, $26.99 pelican-print shorts, $29.99 light-wash denim skirt and a $39.99 plaid shirt dress. The men's collection, on shelves until June 20, features trendy long-sleeve chambray or short-sleeve pelican print shirts to be worn with above-the-knee board and cargo shorts (all these styles are priced at $27.99).
"Organic doesn't always equal more expensive -- that's why we have partnered with Target to share the beauty with more people," Gregory says. "By making eco-fashions more affordable, it makes organic clothing more accessible, more of a way of life."
