10 Questions to ask yourself before you hit “Bid Now”: Coach Items.
1. Who is selling the item?
To find out about the seller, click on their feedback rating and read their feedback, how long have they been a member? Are they ID verified? Do they have a store? Do they have Me page? You are looking for clues that they are a vested seller, interested in their reputation.
2. Are there other similar items to compare yours to?
Are the prices comparable? Are the items in the pictures close to exact? A good sign that something is not real would be that only one seller has it and it is “new”. If there are many sellers from many regions of the country with the same item, it has a better chance of being bona fide.
3. About those pictures…..
Are there many pictures? Are they clear? Are they from many angles? Can you easily observe the craftsmanship of the item? Chances are, if someone were selling a fake, they wouldn’t want to reveal these things.
4. About than workmanship…..
Are the patterns matching at the seams? Does the hardware look brass or nickel? Is it a YKK zipper?
5. What comes with it?
Is there a dust bag? One thing that any Coach store never forgets is to put care cards in their items. Is there tissue paper with the Coach emblem in it? Of course, used or vintage may not have these things and not all purses come with dust bags.
6. Used or vintage telltales…
There may not be a lot to compare to or any of the items that come with a new bag however; Coach hardware has always been top notch. Is it brass or other fine metal? Is there a matching hang tag? Can you see the creed in a picture? Are there a lot of pictures?
7. What about recourse?
Is there a return policy? Is it guaranteed to be authentic? Is the seller’s contact information clearly stated more than once?
8. Do you have any more questions about the item even though you still want to bid and you have done your research?
Does the seller respond promptly to your e-mails? Does the response make sense to you? Is it logical and fact filled?
9. About the many sellers with the same item…
Here is a secret that not many sellers want you to know. They are purchasing their Coach items from the Coach Factory stores. That is why there are so many of the same items. These sellers can spot the Factory Store items right away and know that they are real. But, that’s a good thing for you. They are offering you a first rate product at a discount. There are no seconds in Coach. Every item is “perfect”! These people are making their convenience and shopping expertise your gain. Think of them as your Coach personal shopper.
10. Ask yourself, if you are 100% behind your decision to hit that “Bid’ button. You have done your research and are in love with the item. You need to consider if you were to wait until later in order to think about it, would it still be there? What if you win and you are not satisfied? What if you do win and it is the greatest decision you ever made.
